Another Chenille Blanket from Mama Spark's World

Today I was working on another chenille blanket.  I love to make these for new babies.  They are relatively easy and quick to make.  I had everything in my stash to make his too, which is a bonus.  I have a tutorial on my tutorial page if you want to make one too.  You will need 4 one yard cuts of flannel and one yard of cotton woven that is a kid print you like and will go with the flannel you

How to Sew Bias Binding – Star Bright Jelly Roll Christmas Tree Skirt – 12 Makes of Christmas from Quilt Addicts Anonymous

We’ve done it! We reached our 12th day of Christmas makes and we are finishing up with a tutorial on how to create bias binding and attach it to your tree skirt so that it curves beautifully around your edge.

I also cover how to mark your quilt for your inner and outer circle, cut it down and cut the slit so that you can get it around your tree. Pre-made Bias Binding that Works from Quilted Joy

Recently, Quilted Joy got in stock a new product, pre-made bias binding from Moda. Now I have bound quilts with other pre-made binding before. I was not a fan. The stuff I used before was cheap quality, not cheap price, and I paid dearly for it with my time. The material was inferior and the construction, and pressing in particular, sub-standard. The whole purpose of buying pre-made was to save me time, but the poor construction made it more difficult to sew on straight. I am very happy to report that my experience with Moda’s bias binding could not ...

New Double Fold Bias Tape Maker Perfect for Making Masks! Made in the US! from Quilt Addicts Anonymous

We now have a new Bias Binding Maker that is made right here in the U.S. so we’re able to reorder! The new 2″ Double Fold Binding Tool from Purple Hobbies LLC is perfect for making double fold bias tape for mask straps.

Its construction allows you to eliminate a step and fold the edges in on itself AND in half at the same time to create 1/2-inch double fold bias tape all in one step. That will save tons of time and allow you to make more masks.

The tool comes in a bunch of colors ...

Challenge 11-1 Project Quilting - Flower of Life from Quilting & Learning

Challenge 11.1 of Project Quilting is due tomorrow morning. The theme is Notably Numeric which includes geometry. The Flower of Life is part of what is known as Sacred Geometry. It's all very intriguing stuff.

Flower of Life

I'm not mathematically inclined, but geometry, especially if I don't have to calculate anything, can be quite beautiful. In fact, geometry is the basis for traditional quilting. Although I don't do much traditional quilting anymore, that's how most of us learned to quilt.

Flower of life - a series of circles or orange peels
Since I love ...
